New Student Senate Will Still Be Ignored

The new student senate promises an increased student voice to an Administration that promises to continue not giving a shit about what students have to say. It will replace the ASB, and allow students the chance be more involved in the process of having their ideas get snubbed by the school's administration. When asked why he is interested in running for student senate next fall, one hopeful student said, "I'm just really excited to talk with my peers about real issues that face Bellarmine today. And our Principal told me personally that she will continue ignoring all complaints that don't come from a select group of wealthy benefactors, which I think is really inspiring."

The Hyena followed up with the Principal who affirmed the student's statement, saying "Oh yes, that is the Bellarmine way," going on to explain that a typical meeting with concerned students usually involves nodding and smiling and eventually thanking them for bringing the problem to her attention. "After that I immediately forget about it unless a certain rich parent steps forward," she concluded. The new ASB will promote many positive changes beginning in the fall of 2017 and recent polls show that almost 97% of students are hopeful it will have a powerful impact on the Bellarmine community.
