PTA moms worried where they will get the latest Bellarmine gossip with possible closure of The Lion&

Having been graciously re-located to a corner of The Connelly Campus Center Dedicated to St. Joan of Arc, Bellarmine's student store may close after the 2017-2018 school year, after many complaints that the new location only made it easier for parents to spy on their kids during school hours. "I don't know why students don't come in here like they used to. It just makes me sad that I won't be able to keep tabs on my child's friends anymore," one concerned parent informed The Hyena. Now that the Lion's Den is in a larger and more accessible area, students constantly feel the prying eyes of nosy adults eavesdropping on their day to day lives. "I had to go really far out of the way if I wanted candy after second period, but at least it made it easy to avoid my mom," a nervous student told the Hyena. "Now it is impossible to escape her!"

More and more kids feel the judgmental eyes of their parents in the new location and now avoid going anywhere near the store, prompting administration to reconsider the necessity of the Lion's Den. "We don't really need to give out scholarships," one board member argued. Many now favor a total shut down of the store. "In the A building everything was cheap so kids were enticed to make the trek over. We figured in an easier location we could jack up the prices and make an even bigger profit, but it just hasn't panned out," a spokesperson for the board of trustees said, trying not to blame the helicopter mothers who write checks to Bellarmine. "What a shame, I never got to hear how Jimmy asked that sweet girl to homecoming," a distraught mom said while packing boxes containing unsold muffins.
